Alan Pegg, Eric Nutland and Ted Anderson


Ted Anderson

Ted sadly passed away on Tuesday 2nd September 2014. He was a member of the Extension gang from the late 1980s, right up to the opening through to East Grinstead. He was also a member of the Horsted canopy gang (who raised the money for, and constructed the canopy and buildings on platforms 1 and 2) and ran the Wednesday lineside clearance gang until about ten years ago.

Ted's funeral was held on Thursday 18th September at 1pm at Worth (Surrey & Sussex Crematorium) followed by a gathering at the Half Moon in Balcombe.


Eric Nutland

Eric Nutland, one of our long standing drivers, passed away on Sunday 3rd August 2014. The Funeral service took place at the Surrey & Sussex Crematorium on Monday 18th August. Donations in his memory may be made online to the RNLI, St Peter & St James Hospice and The Bluebell Railway Preservation Society. Eric was very proud to have received his 50 years Bluebell service award in 2010.


Alan Pegg

Alan Pegg passed away on 28 July 2014. Going back many years, Alan was a director of the Bluebell Railway Extension Co. Ltd, and was heavily involved in the initial stages of the extension north of Horsted Keynes. More recently he had worked with the lineside clearance gang until his health deteriorated. His funeral was held on Friday 22nd August at Eltham Crematorium SE9, with donations invited to "Friends of University Hospital Lewisham."
