Bluebell Railway Preservation Society
SUMMARY OF COMMITTEE MEETING
held on 21st April 2006

The Committee met from 7:30pm to 9:53pm. .

Membership Matters: Membership numbers currently stood at just over 9,500.

Finance: Society subscription/donation income for the first three months amounted to £59k compared to £49k in 2005. £56k had been transferred to the company plus £3.7k from the Land Purchase/deferred shares funds. The Committee also discussed the results from 2005.

Pullman Car "Doris" had arrived and the graffiti had been removed. There was much work to do before the vehicle could run and it will be stored under tarpaulin for the time being.

Society AGM:  The AGM documents were now at the printers and would be despatched before 1st May. The draft Sheffield Park Plan will be on display and comments invited before being considered by the Committee.

Volunteer Recruitment:  There had been some response to the appeal in the last Bluebell News and further recruitment activity is planned.

Volunteer Sleeping Accommodation: It was now unlikely that the sleeping cars would move before the AGM as envisaged.

Applications for Trust Funding: The Committee agreed to refer to the Trust applications for a concrete hard-standing outside the relocated Class 2 Project container (subject to any decisions on the use for the area under the Sheffield Park Plan) and for a replacement of the life expired 'Peckham' building in Horsted Keynes Down Yard.

Museum:  The Museum now had full registered status under the Museum Registration Scheme. Thanks were recorded to Sam Bee and Nicholas Pryor for their efforts in achieving this.

Repaint of Loco No 32473: This would not now take place as the sponsorship offer had not materialised. The loco will therefore remain in BR Black until its boiler certificate runs out. When next operational, the loco will be returned to traffic in early Southern livery.

Next Meeting:  The next Committee meeting will be held on 19th May
