Members of the Southern E-Group never meet, other than on the Internet - except when an outing takes place, in this instance at the Bluebell Railway.

Thanks to Richard Salmon - who is an active member of the Bluebell Railway - we arranged for the GNR Directors' Saloon to be attached to one of the service trains (10:47am ex Horsted Keynes and then 11:30, 1:30, 3:30 and 5:25 ex Sheffield Park, ending at 5:40 at Horsted Keynes). This was available for our exclusive use from 10.47 until 5.40. Unlimited tea, coffee and biscuits, also a bar, was available. A buffet lunch was served on the saloon.

Loco Dept. - During a stop at Sheffield Park a guided tour around the loco shed.
Carriage works - A party visited the carriage works at Horstead Keynes at some point in the day.
Signalling - A visit was made to the 'new' signal box at Kingscote.
Models - Several members brought along their own models for display
Admin and Discussion - We took the opportunity to have a discussion on the future of the Southern E-Group.
