Bluebell Railway News Releases

Going Green

Built in 1959 Mark One RMB (Restaurant Miniature Buffet) coach number 1838 has been outshopped from the Bluebell Railways Horsted Keynes carriage workshop in BR (S) green for the first time in preservation

This is part of the railway's policy to turn all its mark one fleet into the more appropriate green livery and eliminating the maroon colours previously carried

New Timetable Leaflet

The 2003 Bluebell Railway Timetable is now available. New for 2003 includes an increase in the number of "Terrier Specials" that the railway plans to operate

Previous years "Stepney Specials" have been so popular the railway plans to operate similar trains using A1 Fenchurch or Stepney during all school holidays from the summer half term onwards

Also the railways 473-bus service will be diverted on all weekends from April to October to serve The National Trust property at Standen, East Grinstead, a showpiece of the arts and crafts movement. This follows an experiment in August of 2002, which saw an increase in revenue on the bus of 87% above that of the same period in 2001

Lindisfarne at Horsted Keynes

Popular northern band Lindisfarne is due to perform at Horsted Keynes Station on the Bluebell Railway on Saturday 5th July 2003

Tickets are priced at £14.00 (includes train ride between Sheffield Park and Horsted Keynes). As a special offer, tickets purchased before 31st January 2003 have a saving of £2.00 per ticket. Telephone the box office on 01825 720832 for more details

The following evening Sunday 6th July will see the return of Bluebell favourites "The Yetties" for their sixth consecutive year
