Bluebell Railway News Release

New Year Vintage Trains

Over the New Year Bank Holiday, the Bluebell Railway will be operating its oldest locomotives and carriages between Sheffield Park & Kingscote Stations

Brighton built locomotive "Birch Grove" (1898) will be hauling the railways 1920's Southern Railway compartment stock whilst Terrier class "Fenchurch" of 1872, will have in tow the popular Victorian Metropolitan coaches. An hourly service from 11.00am until 4.00pm will operate each day from Sheffield Park

Commercial Director Tim Baker said, "It is an ideal way to celebrate the New Year in style and to relax after a hectic Christmas period. You can not get better than snuggling up in a warm steam heated compartment as the train winds its way through the beautiful Sussex countryside"

The vintage trains operate each day from Saturday 28th December until Wednesday 1st January. On New Years Day itself the Great Northern Railway Directors Saloon will be added to the 11.00, 1.00 and 3.00pm trains from Sheffield Park
